In November of 2006 I stumbled upon (again) a site called Planet Renders.  The site is dedicated to the "art" of rendering and graphic design.  I say "again" because I had visited the site several times to find a render for a signature or some other piece of art I was working on.  Only this time I became fascinated with the renders I saw.  Of course, my curiosity got the best of me and before the first day was out I had produced a couple of VERY simple renders.

Before I go on let me explain what a render is in reference to the form I am talking of.  Essentially what you do with a render is to take a picture (I usually use a PC wallpaper) and "cut out" the main focal point of the picture.  This is sometimes a relatively easy thing to do and other wallpapers and pictures require more advanced ability.  For instance, below is a miniature version of a wallpaper I rendered and the final miniaturized result below it...

This version is 500x400 pixels while the original is 1280x1024 pixels.  This render requires some advanced work because of the text that is over the picture itself.  In this case it requires use of the "clone stamp" tool to reproduce existing backgrounds into new places while making the final product appear as if the text was never there.  Here is the result in a mini-version...

One final note: if you are using an older version of Internet Explorer (older than IE7), then the picture above will appear with a light blue (most likely) background that is not really there.  This is formatted as a PNG file which is transparent.  However, older versions of IE do NOT know how to display a PNG file properly.  It is one of the Primary reasons I have used Mozilla Firefox as a web browser for two years now.

Anyway, enough with the explanation.  Let's get on with the renders.  I now have somewhere north of 180 renders to share.  My renders are primarily from games, movies, and comics.  Several of these are renders I did for someone by request.  Some are very large and some are small.  I will be sharing below a thumbnail link to the full size version of the renders.  I host all of my renders on a site called ImageShack.  Please feel free to use these renders if you would like.  All I ask is that you give proper credit to my work IF it is appropriate to do so.  Thanks.

I will be posting these from newest to oldest.  To save them to your computer, right-click on the image and choose "Save Image As" and then save it.  That should do it.

All of my renders are now posted.  I will add more as I finish them.  Enjoy!
